I’ve read God Expects Me twice and found it to be truly inspriational. It is in everyday speech so it is something that anyone can relate. Mayme intertwines humor with family experiences to bring home a point. If you are searching for evidence of a greater being, “God”, then this is a book you should consider. Life is not easy, and the trials that Mayme faced could happen to anyone. I think that is what makes this book so unique. How one accepts the challenges and rises above them sets the stage for how one handles difficult times. Mayme has shared her inner self with the reader and allowed us to follow her journey to the strength and comfort only God can offer. It is worth the read.

Mayme’s book is the story of her journey from a childlike to a mature relationship with God, from awareness of Him, to knowing Him more intimately, from belief based on Dogma to a love relationship with Him. As Mayme searches and studies sources of Truth about God, that information leads to her transformation from a simple believer to an active disciple. Her story is described in an easy to read, personal set of encounters around life problems that resonate with many of us.These experiences provide her with opportunities to put her faith into action with zeal. This is an inspirational book. If you desire a fuller relationship with God, and are ready to begin your own journey, Mayme will expertly lead you on the path.
I was hoping this book was not written in the traditional testimony style – and it was not. I loved this book and have dog-eared so many pages! I felt connected to the author’s experiences in so many ways. This truly is reflective of a learning, maturing and life journey. If you are ready to take your journey on to the next step, have become stalled, or simply want to connect I highly recommend this book. It is very well written – I love her style! After finishing the book I now have hundreds of points to ponder!

I was hoping this book was not written in the traditional testimony style – and it was not. I loved this book and have dog-eared so many pages!
